the artist

About Cam

Cam Millhouse is a contemporary painter born in Saskatoon from early art classes.  He has never stopped drawing, then leading to his lifelong pursuit of painting.

Cam has produced large contemporary canvases of action figures on large ground of colour.  He has created large landscapes on canvas from small water colour studies. Some of his portraits in oil and acrylic capture the essence of the sitters personality.

Artist Statement

My work is intended to invoke an essence of movement and light . New forms evolve from these multiples of miniatures. With the heads it becomes the essence of that individual personality within changing moods. With figures in motion, they become an intuitive response to the world around me.

Colour & composition

The Process

Cam's subject matter is treated with controlled minimal urgency of colour and composition. Early water colour pieces on paper to larger acrylic pieces on canvas as well as small wood panels in oils.

Cam Millhouse has exhibited in various contemporary shows in Calgary, Toronto and Hamilton.
